About Dr. P Suryanarayan
Dr. Pichai Suryanarayanan completed his MBBS and Master of Surgery (Orthopaedics) at the University of Bombay in 1986. He pursued advanced fellowship training in Arthroplasty and Reconstructive Surgery of the joints at The Hospital for Special Surgery, New York and The Wagner Clinic, Germany. He was also awarded the prestigious Indo-German Fellowship at the “Hip Service” of Inselspital, University of Bern, Switzerland.
With over three decades of orthopedic expertise, Dr. Suryanarayanan has been in active practice since 1994, with a special focus on hip and knee arthroplasty. He served as President of the Indian Society of Hip & Knee Surgeons (2011–12) and was appointed Adjunct Professor of Orthopedics at the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University in 2012.
His current special interests include revision hip and knee surgeries, osteotomies, acetabular trauma, bone banking, and navigation-assisted surgeries. He has also led the design team in the development of an indigenously created CT-based Patient-Specific Instrumentation (PSI) in collaboration with industry partners.
